ski lessons

Hi, is there really no choice of ski school except for the Breckenridge one? We're going to be over from the UK for a few days and wanted to plonk the kids in ski school. However, at 270 dollars a day each, it's prohibitively expensive (I think). Is that a normal price for ski school in the Rockies??

Thanks.

No choice on ski school. Pricing normal for Breckenridge and the large Colorado resorts. Smaller resorts like Eldora, Loveland, Sunlight, Monarch etc. less but often times without the surrounding more upscale amenities.

Loveland just west of Denver offers nice packages but 2 things to note -- no lodging and high base elevation. Kids (up to 14 yr) group lesson, lift tix and ski rental $120. Sweet.

The only ski lessons at a ski area are going to be those run by the ski area. You could check out Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, and Copper Mountain (all easy driving distance from Breck) to compare prices but unfortunately they are probably all pretty expensive.

Arapahoe Basin lessons will be less than the major resorts - a little more expensive than Loveland: arapahoebasin.com/ABasin/…kids-programs.aspx

I really don't see the point of driving all over to save a few $$. It's a ski vacation. It's going to be expensive.

When are you going to be here? The ski school at Breck is top notch. Well worth the money. Having been to other ski schools that are cheaper, Breck is far better. Old saying of you get what you paid for. If its after spring break, you can probably by the group lessons and they will be pretty small. During peak times, classes can get pretty big and the small group lessons are worth it.
