Advice on Cycling in the Napa Valley (or should we?)

Hi all

I have read the forum for advice but cant quite get enough info.

My partner and I are visiting from Australia and have 2 nights planned in Napa at the end of May this year. We really wanted to visit wineries by cycling - get some exercise and fresh air while tasting the calories in wine and food.

So we think if we stay stay central in Yountville we could cycle north one day and south / west the next day.

Also being passionate foodies and wanting to go to French Laundry which us in YV. After reading the forum and advice from other TA members if we dont get into FL there are plenty of other places to try.

Also working through where to stay based on availability, quality and price.

Do any TA members have any advice on cycling the Napa to wineries (is it worth it, or should we drive), advice on bike rental, bike routes etc?

All advice and tips greatly appreciated.

This might help:

Hopefully, Old World Napa Innkeepers will chime in with their vast knowledge of the area and tell you if it's feasible.

The rental company you use will have a map and suggestions, or you can do a bike tour with a guide. Yountville is a good choice, going south you have frontage roads. Going north, Silverado can get scary- but it's doable.

Have a good time!
