65th Birthday

we will be celebrating my 65th birthday with a girls trip. We will leave LA and drive up the coast stopping in Santa Barbara and maybe Solvang. We want to spend the night either in San Simeon or Cambria and then tour Hearst Castle the next day. Then drive on up the coast to Big Sur. Any suggestions on where to stay and places to eat?

Thanks,

If you want an oceanfront property, the Best Western Cavalier Resort is very nice in San Simeon. In Cambria, consider one of the Inns on Moonstone Beach Drive. The FogCatcher, Blue Whale Inn, Fireside Inn, Pelican Cove Inn or Moonstone Landing are all very nice properties with oceanviews. The Fireside, Fog Catcher and Pelican Cove Inn have outdoor pools.

The Sow's Ear Cafe, Black Cat Bistro, Robin's, the Sea Chest are all great places for meals in Cambria. If you want an oceanview while you dine, the Moonstone Beach Bar & Grill has good food and very nice ambiance, there is an outdoor patio area with heat lamps if the weather is cool. www.centralcoast. com Have fun! :)
