Driving through this town we stopped for something to eat. What a joke! Nothing open ( it was about 4pm on a Monday). Ended up in a cafe, I think it was called Fiona's where they were putting the chairs on the tables around us ( we only had a cuppa with sandwiches). Our table was seated next to a socket with so many wires coming from it which included a broken fan balancing on a radiator - how safe is that? We walked around the square and were completely unimpressed. This was a sunny day, yet the town looked dated, dull and dour. Avoid at all costs. So my question is, where should we have eaten that s close to Thurles?
