New Maun Camp

Rumour in Maun is of a new Camp - FIREFINCH CAMP will be opening on 1st April 2014 at Thamakalane River Lodge in Maun

Their 'blurb' states It will comprise of 8 shower 'en- suite' Meru tents each with twin beds. Firefinch camp is set back from the Thamakalane River - some of the tents having river views and others partial or none.

All facilities offered at Thamalakane are available to guests staying at FireFinch Camp

Low Season Rack rate: USD 160

High Season Rack : USD 180

The rates include shower en suite accommodation for 2 people and INCLUDES breakfast

This new Camp will add to the already substantial accommodation in Maun - but offering a more 'rustic' experience hopefully. It could be useful for International and South African self drivers on their way to The Moremi Game Reserve.

My only concern is that Thamakalane Lodge itself has not been well reviewed on TA - but hopefully the new Camp will be better managed and operated

1. Re: New Maun Camp

We are staying at Thamalakane River Lodge in Maun beginning of August.

We have reservations for the Firefinch Meru tents. Planning was to be ready on April 1st.

The site still mentions that the Firefinch Meru tents are under construction.

Can anyone inform us if the Firefinch Meru tents are ready for staying in.

Please let us know because we are very curious if they are completed.
