Travel tip through Maun

Returned from Chobe and Nxabega through Maun Jun 20. &Beyond handled all the lodge and air charter/transfers to Maun, good job, very nice lodges. Maun 'international' airport is small, but efficient. There is a small restaurant on the upper level of the terminal. Across the street from the entrance are souvenir shops.

Do NOT pay for anything in foreign currencies (they offer 5 Pula to 1 USD exchange rate, actual rate is about 8 Pula). There is an ATM outside the bank 2 minutes walk down the street on the left.

Do NOT buy any more Pula than you need. Once out of Botswana, you're stuck with it. You can not exchange it anywhere. U.

S. banks don't recognize Pula.
