shore diving at Beqa Lagoon Resort?

I'm headed to the Beqa Lagoon Resort in August, and they only have a 2 tank morning dive, so I was hoping to do some dives in the afternoon.

They say there's unlimited shore diving, but I've read that the shore diving is nothing and not worth doing.

Anyone have any experience with the shore dives?

Welcome to the forum, emarcomd,

As no one has replied, you might read the reviews then private message posters for their experience. One mentioned the shore diving was quite good.

Drinks at resorts can be pricey, and add up quickly. To help keep the price down, suggest taking the amount of alcohol allowed by customs in your checked luggage or purchasing some at the duty free shop at the airport in Nadi. Coming from the states, you will need an adapted angled for Australia for charging camera, phone, laptop batteries. We also take a power converter, and small power strip for charging more than one battery at the same time. For other suggestions of what to take with you, have a look at the following.

We just got back from BLR, and we did a few shore dives from the resort. The house reef isn't as pretty as the boat dive reefs, but there is plenty to see. It's rather shallow (5-25 feet), but is a great way to spend an afternoon or evening, and of course, your air lasts forever at those shallow depths. We did afternoon dives on the house reef, and one night dive. Again, not as pretty as the boat dives, but it's diving, and there's fish and other cool creatures to check out. Supposedly there are seahorses right outside the resort in the sea grasses, although we didn't see any.

Thanks! The person arranging the trip said that due to a storm, the water temperature is colder than normal. What was it like when you were there?

According to the following link, water temps are normal for this time of year.

https:/…beqa-water-temperature.html

Below is information posted on Beqa's website regarding diving:

Do you recommend a wet suit for diving? Our water temperature ranges from 75˚f (25˚c) to 84˚f (29˚c). Most of our guests are comfortable in a 3mm suit during our warm months (November through March) and a 5mm suit the rest of the year. Ultimately it does depend on your personal comfort with the water temperature.

There is lots of information on their website regarding diving, tours/activities, etc., you might find helpful. They also have live chat where you can ask any questions you have.

Hope this helps some.
