Tour Suggestions

While in the Drake Bay area, we are planning to go snorkeling at Cano Island and do the Night Tour with Tracie the Bug Lady. We need one more thing although we won't decide for sure until we get there and may split the group depending on who wants to do which activity. It will be our last day in Costa Rica. Does anyone have any suggestions for the best activity/tour in the Drake Bay area other than snorkeling/Cano Island & the Night Tour. Sirena Station is a definite contender, but we are looking for additional ideas.

Thanks.

Sirena wins hands down. Other options would be a whale/dolphin tour or a picnic on San Josecito beach with a 3 hour hike back (getting dropped off there by boat).

Racandee,

Do you think the day trip to Sirena is worth it? I have been following your posts as I was originally considering doing an overnight in Sirena, but decided against it. It sounds like you really enjoyed your overnight.

No question Sirena is worth it but you should also consider a tour to San Pedrillo inside Corocado. Its a shorter boat ride, there's a hike to a waterfall and there's some incredible primary forest in this area.

As a follow-up--We did the Cano Island Snorkeling and guided hiking at Sirena Station--both were great! We did a day trip to Sirena Station with Mirador--a great tour company. We were worried that we wouldn't see much during a single day at Sirena, but we ended up having a fabulous time. With our tour guide, Rebecca, we saw a tapir, an ant eater, white lipped peccaries, and countless birds, reptiles, and insects! She was really knowledgeable and so fast with her scope that our entire group could get a really good view of nearly every animal she found! We still think it would be worth it to do an overnight at Sirena Station to see more wildlife and maybe a big cat! Next trip maybe....
