Bariloche Hotels - last week in August?! Bus help too?!

hi

I had thought we would be out of "high season" when we visit Bariloche at the end of this month. We've been looking around for hotels online and all of the affordable places seem to be booked up. Is there an event going on, or is this standard for August?

Any hotel recommendations would be appreciated - we are looking for something economical but not a hostel.

We were also planning to take the bus to Bariloche the day after we arrive in Argentina. The plan was to buy the tickets the day of our departure August 27. Now I am worried that we should actually reserve our tickets in advance.

Is this the case, if so how do you do it? Most of the bus sites on-line are Spanish only.

thanks for any + all advice!

Hi

Thanks for the info, but we were really hoping to stay in town -Bariloche. Spent another day today flipping through guidebooks and looking up hotels but I still had no luck in finding a place that has rooms available.

At this point we are seriously considering changing our itinerary and not going to Bariloche. Any suggestions would be great!

thanks

hey there!

August in Bariloche is High season, actually all over Arg. ppl in Argentina are now in winter-vacations, and everywhere you go is booked. BUT, depending on the budget you have in mind you might find something or not.

I would recommend for you to contact a travel agency or any professional, they might have rooms for some hotels. Travel agencies sometimes buy rooms in advance and they might have availability. I strognly recommend to visit Bariloche. hope you find something you like!

G'Luck!
