Getting to Fethiye

Whats the quickest and cheapest way to get to Fethiye from Dalyan? Coming to Dalyan in June for the first time and was recommended both places, ended up choosing Dalyan so thought we might go and have a look at Fethiye to see if we did right choosing Dalyan !!!

Shorty we are doing it the other way round. also in June. We are staying in Oludeniz for two weeks and then going to Dalyan for 3 days at the end of our hols to try it out and see what it is like. We will take the bus from Fethiye to Ortaca and change to dolmus to Dalyan. We love the Fethiye/Oludeniz area so will be interesting to see how we enjoy Dalyan.

Have a great holiday.

Nursecarol,"Katerangi"is not just a lovely view,it is great for a day at the beach. We get a dolmus from Fetheye,You pay a very small amount to get to the beach as it is part of the national park.It is mainly used by Turks who camp there. It is a very calm bay suitable for children,as it is shallow for someway out.Just snack bars so not much spending money needed.Trees all around the bay .Very relaxing.

Shorty, just to mention, Fethiye doesn't really have a beach, but it is a great town, with marina and a great place to walk along the front. If you have the time get the dolmus over to Oludeniz where the beach is to give you some idea of the area and the beach.

There is a daily bus from Dalyan bus stop in the centre of the town. Leaves at 10.30 and back from Fethiye dolmus bus station at 5.30.

This bus is staight through no need to get off at Ortaka.

It is best to book the night before to guarantee a seat.

Hi Shorty

If you take the Tuesday market option it takes approximately 45 minutes, but you don't need to book the night before, (although you'll be encouraged to do this and pay in advance). It really is ok to turn up on the morning you want to go as there's plenty of transport available. From my experience if one dolmus fills up they just start filling up another one.

Personally I prefer to wait (it might rain, or I might want to change my plans) and decide on the day......hope you enjoy your trip..
