Are taxis readily available inside La Fortuna? Currently, what would a typical fare be to travel at a nearby resort to the downtown area... say 8-10 km one way? thanks!
They're not usually sitting outside hotels or restaurants, but you can have them call one for you. Also see them near the central park in town.
Your best bet is to just email the hotel where you want to stay and ask.
Normally, you can ask at the frontdesk to call the taxi station and request one. They will charge around $10-$12.
The best way to travel around la Fortuna & Arenal Volcano is the Unlimited Arenal Shuttle Pass, you pay just $15 and use it during all your stay in La Fortuna, they go to the main attractions like La Fortuna, waterfall, rock pool, free hot springs, arenal volca, national park, restaurants and other ( if you take a regular taxi they will charge around $25 to take you to a hot spring resort like tabacón , one way)
outdoor, do you call for a pickup or does it run on a regular schedule? What hours does it run?
VG he does this regularly. Posts the same thing but never provides details or answers questions. Strange.
Weird. I would be interested if there were more details. We used the shuttle at AOL for $8 one way.
outdoor, if you could provide some more details I'd appreciate it.
There is a schedule of this "unlimited shuttle" on the site if La Choza hotel in La Fortuna- www.lachozainnhostel.com/arenal-shuttle-pass/ . The last time I checked, few reviews from former guests mentioned the shuttle. Some had issues with the meaning of "unlimited" or talked about another shuttle ride - the one the hotel includes, to free hot springs.
