Suggestions for Kolkata Sightseeing for 3 day trip

Staying at a hotel in Hazra Road, Ballygunge Area. Please suggest a 3 day sightseeing itinerary and any good vegetarian restaurants nearby. How early should one leave for the Dakshineshwar Kali Temple--ferry to Belur Math circuit? Is there car parking near the ferry? Thank you.

Your Ideal 3 day itinerary may be:

Day 1 - Indian Museum, Birla Planetarium, St. Paul's Cathedral, Victoria Memorial and a leisure walk at Princep Ghat (Exploring Indian Museum and Victoria Memorial takes at-least 2-3 hrs each)

Day 2: Botanical Gardens and exploring New Market/Maidan/Park Street's local food joints in evening

Day 3: Dakhineswar Temple and Belur Math

Obviously you may do this in any order.

There are many only veg restaurants in Ballygunge area if you can explore.

I know these below are confirmed to serve only veg.

Teekha - 24, Ballygunge Place

Tram Deepo - 45, Fazlul Haque Sarani

Mumbai local - 19, Ballygunge Park Road

Nawaarah - 48A, Syed Amir Ali Avenue

The best way to visit Dekhineswar is to board Sealdah bound train from Ballygunge Jn Station. From Sealdah take another train Sealdah - Dankuni local and get down at Dakhineswar Station. Temple is at walking distance.

From Dakhineswar, there is a ferry service to Belur Math.

Leaving for Dakhnineswar early morning at 7-8 AM will be good. I will not suggest to take hired cab to Dakhnineswar as currently sky-walk construction is going on there, entrance to temple is little disrupted and parking may not be available. Take a taxi/app cabs instead and leave at Dakhineswar (approx. 2 hrs from Ballygunge)

For return, board train from Belur Math station to Howrah.

From there take taxi/bus to Ballygunge.

Hope I could help. Let me know if you need any more information.

You can start for Dakshineswar at 6 a.m. from the hotel. It'll take about 1 hr to reach there. After darshan may start for Belur by 8 a.m. If you hire a cab for this trip, avoid ferry. After Belur come down to the city via Vidyasagar Bridge (2nd Hooghly bridge).

Veg meal at ISKCON, Ballygunge Circular Road | Hotel Homely Raj, Monoharpukur Road | Prema Villa, Lake Market. These places are in 2 km redial distance from the mentioned place.
