Train Network in Sri Lanka

Can someone pls. help with how many train lines are there in Sri Lanka. The name of the stations and which station does one need to get off to go to Kandy, Nuwara Eliya. A schedule of the trains would be helpful as well. A map of the train network with the stations mentioned would be very helpful.

There are 9 train lines in Sri Lanka.

Kandy: some trains go to Kandy - some you have to get down at Peradeniya (7 km outside Kandy). Both Kandy and Peradeniya are on Colombo-Matale and Colombo-Badulla lines.

Nuwara Eliya: Closest station is Nanu Oya (Colombo-Badulla line) - about 5-6 km from Nuwara Eliya.

You can find timetables here: http://www.railway.gov.lk/index.php There is also a link to the railway network on the site.
