First time in Japan; 1st stop Osaka/Kyoto

Hi all,

Appreciated your help with this. Will be travelling with mr and little one, will be arriving in Osaka on saturday night around 7pm, and have few questions:

-our accomodation is near jr-namba station, is it better to go by ocat bus or train? We do have one luggage, one pram and backpack. Is it much more convenient to go via bus?

-which pass better for us? Should we get the weekend day pass 600yen? Or icoca haruka or kansai thru pass?We will be in osaka for 4 days and want to fit kyoto as well. In osaka we will be happy to just soak the ambience and go around at leisurely pace to kurumon market and himeji castle.

After that we will travel to tokyo by train

Thx in advance

I think it's probably easiest to take the train; that's personally what I would choose. It's difficult to determine which pass without knowing your full travel plans. Use this site to plan out the cost and that should guide you to a pass:

Good luck!

Helpful also to know the specific hotel (or give specific address). Namba Station itself is huge. The OCAT is generally very close to JR Namba, but make sure you are actually near JR Namba. You can do a Google map "walk" to see.

The Haruka ICOCA is not applicable in certain cases, including getting to OCAT by bus.
