Aqaba or Taba?

Hi All - I've posted this on the Taba forum, so hope you don't mnd me posting on Aqaba also!

I'm planning a trip in Easter to the region. I will have about 7 days and originally was planning on a flight into Eilat and then to Taba (Movenpick). But I've been reading a lot of reviews (many fake btw!) and it sounds as though Taba is completely empty.

Would it be better opting for Aqaba?

I will be travelling with my wife and 3 kids (aged 2, 5 and 9) and we were looking just for some good weather at Easter, snorkling, sea and pool.

Any advice?

Dahab would be a cheaper option.

Not that far from Taba (140km) and you will save quite a bit of money.

I agree with JPT, prices in Dahab will be so much lower than in Aqaba but if you need my vote forTaba or Aqaba then definitely Aqaba. Enjoy your time !

Thanks JPT and Patricia for your feedback.

My consideration is that I will travelling with my young children (3 of them) and wife. Firstly Tel aviv for 3 days, then flight to Eilat. Then Dahab might be too much travel for them. As they will have to do the return as flight to UK is from Tel aviv also.

How much would the taxi cost to Dahab from Eilat / Taba? Are we talking 2 or 3 hours?

I could potentially do 3 days in Taba / Aqaba and then 3 days in Dahab??

Keep in mind that every time you exit Israel (even if you only spend 20 minutes going from one border to the other) you pay 105 NIS exit fee per person (I don't know if kids pay or not) so that could take quite a bit of your travel budget. Beside that I wouldn't want to pack up and go every 3 days with 3 kids and luggage.
