Hi

Just seen someone's post on facebook saying all holidays now cancelled till April 20th. And the hotel concierge has stated it aswell. The person had received a phone call this morning. But didn't state which company.Been on Thomas Cook site but couldn't see anything anyone know anything

Crickie

All package holidays with companies such as Thomas Cook and Thomson/First Choice will be suspended until the UK government FCO decide otherwise(change the current travel status that is),

https:/…tunisia

These holiday companies and others can change all the dates they want .

The FCO traveladvice will determine when these companies resume flights.

As stated on a number of threads here on the forum, the companies continue to take bookings knowing fine well that travel to Enfidha for example is not in their hands

Bottom line

No one is travelling to Tunisia on charters until our government decide its "safe" to do so.

Pessimist i may be.... I do not see the travel advice being lifted soon.

Even in the link that Topkat provided.

TC say they will not "resume flights as planned in March"

Planned!?

Where did they get that from?

The idea that they could resume flights in March despite FCO advice is ludicrous.

They are at it again !!

They will continue to offer holidays in the hope that the ban is lifted.

Don't book until the travel restrictions ARE lifted.

That is my advice.

I am sure others may agree.

Don't take too much credence on what you read on facebook

Although i guess in this case the TC facebook page will have updates

I read on Facebook once a woman claimed that aliens abducted her budgie

Trust this forum for genuine comments on all things Tunisia Holidays

....... The truth is out there !!.........

Holidays from TC have been cancelled up to end of April ,mine was booked April 27th for 2 weeks but they called me yesterday to give me a refund or change to May ,but as the FCO havent lifted the ban they couldnt definatively say the flight was on ,so I took the refund and will bide my time .

Hi Pat

And unless the FCO lift current advice, those booked a charter/package deal for May (or any time next year) will get the same response as you have

I booked my holiday a week before it all happened last June. In not meant to be going till June 16. Just hadn't seen anything on Thomas Cook website with regards extending it until I read a piece by the the concierge of the hotel I go to.

Don't it will go ahead just don't leave many choices within the same price range.

<< don't leave many choices within the same price range>>

I agree with that and TC and Thomson know that too, Crickie .

They will try to sell you a more expensive alternative destination

Happened to us the last time the FCO restricted travel to Tunisia (2011)

You are entitled(as you are likely aware) to a full refund,(if ban is not lifted by then)

Although not ideal if you are rigid on travel dates.

Good Luck ,whatever happens

Hope you get a nice holiday somewhere

Yeah I agree with mick, do not give these companies your money. They cannot provide the holidays they are offering at the moment. Honestly I don't see the ban being lifted, especially after what has recently happened in Egypt and Paris.... !
