i think there is yamuna behind taj but the other river ganges is in varanasi and haridwar

You can do a boat trip in Varanasi, but thats a long way from Agra, about a 12 hour train journey.

ganges is about 100 km from agra.

boat ride is not posiible .you can go by car there.

the best place to enjoy ganga is varanasi(one of the living oldest city of the world.)

Nearest distance from Agra to the Ganges is 150km. Once you go there perhaps you could enjoy boat ride .

And if you want to know more about hinduism and importances of ganges in life so go varansi.

you must be talking about river yamuna which runs right behind the taj mahal - a boat ride is certainly possible in the yamuna

if u r going varanashi and hariduar and rishikesh then it will be great,and if u want near agra ganga river then its arrounf 100 to 150kms.

go for sauran ghat near kasganj and also ramghat and rajghat near aligarh.can get taxi-car for both places from agra.

Hi David

As others have said, the place to really experience the importance of the Ganges is Varanasi which is an absolutely fascinating place. Here you can go on a boat trip early in the morning to watch the sun rise, which is a magical experience, and also in the evening to see and partake in the ceremonial activities.
