does anyone know if domestic airlines allow you to board an earlier flight than is stated on your ticket ?? ie book a later flight from mumbai down to goa, but if lucky and get through airport quickly from international to domestic terminal , may catch earlier flight with the same airline obviously.

Very unlikely to happen, as most flights from Mumbai to Goa are busy.

You can always ask. No harm in trying, they do accommodate if seats are available if you request them enough.

corn if you want, to,swop your flight, times thats on your ticket ,,think it going to cost you.. but you NEVER know ask them, you may get lucky, seen a few in bombay domestic, that have missed, flights on to goa, ,you need a leased,4,hours from the plane landing in bombay to you getting on the flight to goa i think the travel men that sell the bombay/,goa flight, to,gether never, leave you plenty of time//,for some reson//,for the swop over of planes,, for the goa run,,,

thought about that myself if we pass through customs quickly.ive booked a lunch time flight as we arrive at 3 .10 am.some years ago as we were leaving goa up to mumbai we were asked if we would like to get on an earlier flight as there were empty seats and we were rushed straight through to boarding.this gave us plenty of time to do a little city visit.so although we have made plans to take a room for a few hours i will ask if there is any available seats.give it a go and see what they say.good luck...

I'm in the throes deciding whether to turn what should have been a 3 hour transit through Bombay into a 24 hour stopover because BA have cocked up the internal flight which now leaves as their aircraft lands. They are being fairly obstructive despite there being plenty of other carriers with whom they contract having flights at appropriate times. I fear they may be going down the pan since the merger with Iberia; I was never really that confident that the internal flight would operate as scheduled since it is with the infamous Kingfisher, but I really expected that BA might be able to sort out the problem quite easily.

I think that airlines are less flexible now about letting people swap flights at airports unless they have rack rate tickets. Of course, the old 500 rupees (probably more in Bombay!) at the check in desk might just do the trick lol......

Yes , in the good old days, lol , comma it wasnt a problem jumping on earlier flights. sometimes if you missed your flight completely , they would still let you on the next one. But i fear times have changed. My fault though, should of thought it through a bit better when booking international flight. It was a lot more to book the internal flights with Emirates than booking them independently.
