Hi, I'm going to dubai on monday and I was wondering where the cheap places are to eat and drink (alcohol). I can't look at the time out website for some reason, and I don't know where else to look. Thanks

Define 'cheap' because if you are not in one of the all you can eat and drinks then the inclusion of alcohol immediately removes the word 'cheap'.
the 5 star hotels with restaurants that serve alcohol - are generally very expensive.
there are a few that have buffet meals with free house wine - that are value for money.
The second option - are bars.
places I can think of -
henry j beans - bar with eats
german bar at marriott - bar with german sausage (yum)
creek side yacht and golf club - restaurant overlooking the creek
towers rotana - mezzanine floor has a restaurant with house wine
champions at marriott
and the list goes one....
steeve, I think Jane is trying to avoid having to pay an arm and leg to eat out.....u know those Dhs.800 plus affairs at the verre or other "up market places".....
We were at an all you can eat and drink mexican in ... I think Al Bustan (would that be right??) I think it was 120Dhs per person and granted the only drinks were margaritas and korona ... but you could have as much as you wanted!! There was even a chocolate fountain!! (devine!!!!)
loose - u want us to confirm which place "you" went to??
Des - drink is expensive my good friend. Janey wants to eat AND drink cheap and you don't do that in bars.
Here's what I would do:
Friday - has to be a brunch somewhere. Double Deckers probably the in one but Andiamo superior.
Saturday - Spice Island
Sunday - Fontana, Al Bustan Rotana
Monday - Might take it easy and just do Teatro early bird followed by Long's Bar
Tuesday - Night Of Knights, Gardinia, Towers Rotana
Wednesday - Asian night, Jumeirah Rotana
Thursday - tough call: Italian at Gardinia, or Spice island again
Thanks for all your messages. I meant eat somewhere cheap and then go for a drink someone different but cheap!
Des would be 'someone different' and he's cheap.
well if the truth be known, My favourite for food is "fuddruckers" near the aviation college - on the main road after the garhoud bridge....
the best burgers ever.....
all those places mentioned by me are relatively cheap.
Other cheap options are the 100's of restaurants all over town that dont serve booze.
They are all over the place and too many to mention.
Do a search on restaurants.
drinks cost are almost the same at most bars....Dhs.20 to 25 for a pint of beer. And about the same for a whiskey.
The more posh bars would charge 30 to 35
virtually all hotels have a bar, to find the one that suits your mood and company,
it all varies - day of the week, the time of day, and the time of year.... whats great today, will be bland tomorrow.....and the public also change.....
your gonna have to do some bar hopping.
Fuddrucker's says it all Des.
