Decide between Villa Rotana or Savoy Suites

Hi, my husband and I will be in Dubai with or 2 children (8 and 7 years old) from 28 Nov-4 Dec.

We are looking and deciding between 2 hotels: Savoy Suites Hotel Apartment (Burjuman) and Villa Rotana.

Both receive good reviews in Tripadvisor but which will be a better choice.

Any opinion is much appreciated, thanks!

It's hard to know which will be a better choice for you.

Villa Rotana is very central on Sheikh Zayed Road and close to Burj Khalifa and downtown area plus Dubai Mall.

Bur Juman is in Bur Dubai and closer to the creek and the older more traditional areas such as the souks and heritage sites.

I think you have to decide based on where you want to be in the city and/or price

Both are decent hotels but VR is definitely a step up from Savoy. Rotana is a solid brand and most of their hotels here reflect high quality standards.

Ah, the old conundrum of someone asking for 'better' without defining what 'best' means to them.

As a brand and class of hotel, hands down VR wins.

Savoy Suites is really in Mankhool, which is more of a hotel apartment area and not much else.

VR is in a more happening, more modern and more attractive area - Sheikh Zayed Road. Closer to Downtown, much more typical of the Dubai people expect from the pics.

As an aside, there's a lot of competition for hotel and hotels/apartments and it's possible to pick up great deals. Location matters a lot in Dubai, and depending on your travel plans it can eat into your travel spending money.

Depending on your itinerary, just make sure your hotel is in a practical location with the minimum of travel around if you're intending sight seeing. For example, if you would rather be in the JLT area look at Armada Blue Bay as it's around the same price point, or First Central Suites at Tecom, or somewhere in Al Barsha.
