Zadar to Budapest

We are going to be traveling from Zadar to Budapest in July. We disembark from out boat trip 9am on a Sunday and we want to continue moving towards budapest immediately. Can anyone shed some light on how to get there without having to spend 10hours in a plane?

Thank you

Bus to Zagreb and then bus or train from Zagreb to Budapest.

First, you wouldn't spend 10 hours on a plane since the distance between Zadar and Budapest is not that big. Your best bet would be bus, but it will take over 9 hours: https://vollo.net/search/zadar-budapest

I paid for a private transfer for my children to go from Budapest to Zadar. Not cheap but an option if you don't mind spending the money.

Information from the site of Hungarian branch of Eurolines:

FlixBus ran its direct services between Budapest and Split daily in the period of 15/06-15/09/2017 as well as until Makarska on every Friday until 09/09/2017.

Main cities - for example Zadar, Biograd, Trogir, Split - are furthermore available with a change.

Tickets can be purchased in the international ticket office as well as on the website of FlixBus. (links)
