Looking at possibly visiting but I havent been able to find a good way to get there from the US. Any ideas?
first, get to perth then christmas island.via virgin australia.
altho apparently there are accommodation issues there due to the australian gov increasing their presence. there is an illegal immigrant detention centre on the island the number of 'arrivals' has been increasing lately.
same accommo problems with neighboring cocos-keeling too.
apparently there is a flight from kuala lumpur, malaysia too but am not aware of the deets.
christmas Island air (who?) fly from KL.
assume u meant the indian ocean christmas island not the pacific ocean one ie. kiritimati Island in kiribati
1. What is the best way to get to Christmas island from Singapore?
2. Do Singaporeans need to apply for a visa?
3. If I go 21-25 Dec, is that the reight season to see crab migration?
4. Can I hire a local guide with 4WD?
1. it would appear there is a KL to xmas island air service.
2. i would think so.
3/4 check out the web site: http://www.christmas.net.au/
there is a singapore travel agent recommended on that site.
let's know how u go with this, esp the accommo situation.
