Panama City v Medellín v Rio de Janeiro

Single traveler looking to get away for 5-6 nights for fun at the end of the year....Rio is my gold standard—beach during the day, good restaurants, good/decent nightlife, attractive people.

I have been to Medellín 3x in the past year and like it, but don’t find it particularly exciting during the day as there is no beach and it is 1/4 the size/population of Rio.

My question is, will Panama City more or less be similar to Medellín?...walking around malls during the day isn’t my idea of thrilling fun....is there more to do during the day than in Medellín or stick with Rio??

Thanks

Not much to do in the city during the day... beaches are far from the city.

If instant gratification is what you're looking for, then Panama City is definetly not for you.

Panama City doesn't really have any beaches, but does have tons of history and architecture, plus the canal, and is a vibrant, modern city with a great restaurant scene.
