Getting around without a car in Pucon

I will be in Pucon soon for about 5 days and, in addition to climbing Villarica, wanted to do some nearby nice dayhiking. Looking into in more, it seems nice dayhikes can be up to 45 minutes or more drive from the center of Pucon around where I will be staying. Without a rental car, how can get to these hikes, or best make use of my time in Pucon?

There are local busses for the best known dayhikes, like Huerquehue and El Cani.

Thanks for your reply! What is the name of these buses and/or where would I find more information about them. A quick internet search did not yield much

there are cheap tours to the approaches of volcano (not climbing), also taxis (negotiate a fair price) to there, very cheap buses to El Cañi Park, Huerquehue Park, Caburga lake, Curarrehue. Ask in any tourism office for alternatives for a foot traveller

These are local busses, there are many more. They leave from 3 terminals next to each other. Or ask at the tourist office in Pucon .

Besides local busses or taxis, a good option is hitchhikking
