Affordable Massage

Can anyone recommend a professional but affordable massage in Singapore? I'm not really looking for the top spas, but something nice and inexpensive.

Thanks!

I would not recommend Healing Touch at all! Just went there recently and my experience was horrible!

It started out well. About 5 minutes into the massage of my leg, I felt relaxed on the bed and started to fall half asleep. Then suddenly, I heard the therapist's voice but could not make out what she was saying as I was dozing off. So I asked her to repeat. She said matter-of-factly that I was too tensed and needed to relax more. I was surprised. I felt very relaxed and if I was already half asleep, how more relaxed could I be??

So I retorted that "I AM already relaxing". To my shock, she rudely replied: "Sometimes people are not relaxed and they don't know about it". At this point, I was woken up for sure and felt a little pissed.

Then when it came to massaging my back, she again commented I was too stiff. Immediately after, she applied very hard pressure on my back. It was brash and done poorly, almost as if she felt angry and wanted to take it out on me. She commented about how difficult it would be for her to massage me if I didn't relax.

Shortly after, the therapist commented rudely again, I was not relaxing enough because my hand was not placed flat on the bed! That was the most stupid remark! How did placing the palm of my hand at a slight angle meant that I was not relaxing?!

Throughout the massage, her movements were not smooth at all. Instead of massaging slowly into my body, she was using great force on me which was painful and not comfortable at all.

What was ridiculous is I opted for the most light and relaxing massage in the list at the reception but it turned out to be a bad experience of pain, discomfort and poor service. In my 4-5 years of indulging in spa massages, this experience at Healing Touch was the worst ever!!!

I should also add that I go to the gym regularly and there are certain muscle groups in my body that feel stiff and hard. Is it my fault?

Healing Touch -- You've got a lot to do to train your staff to treat your customers with better respect, and also to tell them that some people may feel stiff because they workout! We don't intentionally stiffen our muscles!

After this experience, I'm sure I would NOT go back to Healing Touch or recommend it to my friends.

If you go to their Facebook page, you will see all the reviews are positive. That's because they are highly controlled. I tried to post my bad experience but instead of dealing with it, they blocked me! Cowards....

So do be warned....

Use Healing Touch whenever I come to SIN. Never had a bad experience. To soften hardened muscles is never painless. May something wrong with exercises. Would I follow the advice of a 1st timer, not with a rant like this.

i would highly reccomend ADEPT therapy for their massages. tho they dont have a websites, their outlets are at

streetdirectory.com/businessfinder/…

they do traditional tui na massages and charge the usual price.

no fancy spa like features. just nevia cream and a skilled hand.

so prices are standardised and worth every minute.

do tell them where the ache is so they can heal the area and relief it of stress.

hope you have a relaxing time here :)

Thank you gerbilly3, I will be travelling to Singapore in October 2012, Staying at the Goodwood hotel around the orner, will definately check it out. I didn't want to end up in a weird place that offer 'extras'. Not interested.

at goodwood park hotel there's a nearby "spa real", just a few steps away.

I would suggest checking www.oprc.com.sg. they specialize in clinical and deep tissue massage apart from sports injury treatments.
