Yes the Singapore airlines stopover is very good value, especially for 1 night as the first night hotel stay is very cheap, much cheaper than you could book the same or similar hotel directly. Additional nights are still quite cheap. And then you get the return transfers, access to the hop on/hop off bus plus entry to some attractions.

Food is still very cheap when you eat at hawker centres or food courts at malls.

Beer is about $5 at a hawker centre, but more if you go to a bar, depending on how fancy the bar is.

Their list their hotels in various categories, eg. A, B, C.... they only tend to have a few hotels to choose from, and not all of the great newer hotels which have opened in the city in the last few years.

Which selection of hotels in which category were you looking at?

Hi

I have just done this stop over for one night and it was ok.

I stayed at Chancellor at Orchard and the hotel was just so/so but a stones throw from Orchard Road and it had a nice swimming pool on the rooftop. Were I staying longer I would chose a better hotel and pay more but for one night it was fine.

The price was cheaper than the walk in rate at the hotel.

Just the 2 of us (hubby and me ) for 2 nights. Stayed at MBS last trip for 4 nights but thinking maybe Clarke Quay this time?? Option according to the 'stopover' deal - Park Hotel Clarke Quay or Furama City centre. Any thoughts or better locations? Thanks

Ibis Bencoolen, Furama City Centre, Dorsett, Village Hotel Albert Court and 30 Bencoolen are all close to MRT, food centres and some nightlife. Some do not have pools.

Personally, I would probably choose Dorsett.
