According to our Boracay DE, yes. Some parts of the island are flooded.

its not really impacted by the typhoon, its impacted by the rainy season typical weather which includes heavy torrential rains on an island that has had its wetlands built upon. The beach had corrosion and is damaged or washed out in some areas. It rained today.

It has been impacted indirectly as the island was not actually hit by the typhoon. As such we are experiencing strong wind and a fair amount of rain at the moment due to what people refer to as the 'tail end' of the storm. Every now and again strong squalls blow up, it rains heavily and the sea is very rough. Central areas (main road and side streets, especially around station 2) are very prone to flooding but this should not spoil enjoyment of the beach, though staying in main road hotels is best avoided. The beach suffered quite a lot of erosion from the last storm but it's still nice to sit there when the sun is out.

No need to cancel. The tropical storm (not typhoon) affecting northern Luzon and causing bad weather is set to clear the Philippine Area of Responsibility by tomorrow - Thursday. Floods should have subsided by the time you arrive.

sirenna and leftovertoo, thank you for the excellent weather updates that will be read by many prospective travellers given Boracay's growing positive reputation.

My rule of thumb is that in most cases, Northern Luzon and Metro Manila are subject to worse rainy season weather than the (central island group of) Visayas and the (southern island group of) Mindanao.

This is a bit simplistic and not a perfect guide, but in the main it seems to hold pretty true.

Yes, raining heaps, and station 2 is flooded. But the storm is on the way out. The beach is still lovely. Avoid some areas, sure. No need to avoid the whole island. :)

Hmm. Hard to see much on this Boracay live cam. And you get bombarded with advertising trying to access it.
