Art Deco in Tokyo

I enjoy - and amateurishly collect - Art Deco pieces, both old and reproduction. I'm hoping to find something(s) while visiting Tokyo later this month. (We'll be 4 days in Kyoto and 6 in Tokyo.) While I have a list of beautiful Art Deco buildings to visit, I haven't been able to uncover advice on shopping - beyond visiting a few general antique shops and markets. (Is there a gift shop at the Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum?)

Reproductions are fine - probably preferable.

There is a museum shop at the ticket gate at the Teien Art Museum.

You might also go to the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, in Takehashi/Kudanshita. There are two buildings- the Art Museum Gallery and the Craft Gallery. The museum shop is larger there. The museum mostly covers the period between the Meiji Restoration (1868) to somewhere around the end of WWII; it does not specialize in art deco but probably have some things that catches your attention (though depends on displays which shuffles).

I'm not sure about actual item pieces, but for old and new books on art and design, you might browse around Jimbocho: http://jimbou.info/town/ab/ab0147.html ; https:/…fdeb48af0fa5523fd6ce4ea8da66fc85

Although it is not in Tokyo, Kitazawa Art Museum is located in Suwa, Nagano Prefecture.

In Hakone, there is the Rene Lalique museum.

Now you can see Galle's work at the Pola Museum in Hakone. (Art Nouveau)

It is also possible to go to Hakone on a day trip from Tokyo.

I think the express bus is convenient from Shinjuku.

In Kyoto, the 1928 building is an art deco-like building.

Restaurant Kikusui

At the Kyoto National Museum of Modern Art, if the timing matches, it may be possible to see Felice_Rix-Ueno's work.

I liked it in 2009 when I saw the exhibition of Felice_Rix-Ueno and her husband Isaburo Ueno.

Besides, Interested architecture in Kyoto

It may be under construction at the moment, but Kyoto City Hall is similar to Art Deco.

Although I forgot, the entrance to the Hara Museum seems to be an art deco.

Nanyodo Book Store in Jimbocho is a book shop dedicated to building. (I think that there are many Japanese)

Aoyama book center sells foreign books. There are also many books related to design.

Small, but also likes the Lixil gallery book store.
