Lembongan Island day trips

Hi everyone,

We will be in Bali in a couple of weeks and want to do a day trip over to Nusa Lembongan. We have always put it off on our other visits because of the weather and seas but this time we will be in Bali's peak season so thought that we would finally make it.

Can you advise on a good day trip and where to book.

We dont want to be sitting on a pontoon all day. Would rather be on the island itself.

thanks

You will find little booths on the streets all over Bali. So any of those or if you can't get to one of those, the reception of your hotel will be able to sort it out, but it probably will cost you more.

We have sailed (not motored by preference) with Bali Hai, Waka Nusa, Coconuts and a private sailing ship many years back.

If you want lots of activities and a nice pool, bar and buffet lunch, then Bali Hai may be for you.

If you prefer a smaller group with less beach activities, you may like the Waka option. Not sure if Coconuts does day trips, as we stayed overnight.

I think it's the Bounty who have the pontoon set-up.

Have fun whichever one you choose.

I can recommend Bali Hai Cruises. They have a web site you can look at. It is cheaper to book when you are in Bali by enquiring at a couple of the booking counters you see along the street. The price can be slightly negotiable. You have a choice of staying on the pontoon where the boat docks OR going over to their beach club and using the facilities at their accommodation. You are picked up from your hotel and taken to Benoa harbour. When you board there is a lovely morning tea served. The trip takes approximately one hour and guests are transfered to the resort they own. Lunch is included as well as some water sports like unlimited banana boat rides and snorkeling. Afternoon tea is also served. On the return journey there is entertainment on board. Once you arrive back in benoa you are returned to your hotel. It is good value for money. Bali Hai is owned and operated by an australian man who employs local staff.

Or you can go by the scoot boat and just do your own thing all day on the island. Once you get there, all you have to do is indicate that you want to hire bikes, go snorkeling, need a guide and someone will be able to help you.

thanks Snooky and Whinnie

I have heard good things about Bali Hai cruises, I like the idea of spending the day at their resort rather than the pontoon.

We were also considering doing a swim with the dolphins day trip, when there last time thats all people talked about at breakfast.

Have a look at Bali Discovery http://www.balidiscovery.com/# look on left side of web page under Excursions, click on Day trips then Cruising. They charge $84 US /pax. you can probably book when in Bali their phone no. is on the website. As mentioned try tourist booths in street and compare prices.

I would recommend with the last person. Take the scoot boat over - we got tix the day before at the Scoot office in Sanur. Just book everything there when you get to the island there in town, boats ready to take you anywhere and everyone offer tours at a fraction of the price.

I would recommend that you take the morning - maybe lunch at Batu Karong - it is an awesome hotel just a 100 yard walk up the hill you will see the nice rooftops to your right as your arrive. From the Scoot office and has amazing view - with really good food.

The best way to get around is rent a scooter since it is really lots of hills and some steep too hard for a bike. Scooters were like $20/day.

I had a great time riding around and really no cars. We rode over a small bridge to Nusa Cenenigan and through some small towns - and great views and tidepools. Here is a map of the island

Dream Beach is awesome - there is a bar for sunset drinks - for sunset and on the way you will see great cliffs over the water that is so scenic.

Here is a video of the coast when we visited... hope you enjoy -
