Best scuba sites & cost

Best scuba sites & cost

I will be in Sanur for 5 nights and looking to do some diving from here. What’s the best sites? One experienced diver and one qualified amateur. Looking to do 2 days.

I’ve been looking at some websites and the price’s all seem to be $120-$150 usd person per dive depending on location. This seems expensive, is it cheaper to book when in Bali?

Is it easy to get money exchanged? Ok to bring £?

Forum member cbimages currently in Bali is a diver, she will see your post & reply.

You can arrange diving while in Sanur (we were having a drink last year in front of a dive shop & the boat had just returned)

Nusa Lembongan is a fast boat trip from Sanur approx 30min crossing, snorkelling & diving.

Diving/snorkelling, Amed, Candidasa and Tulamben on the north/east coast and the Gili's off Lombok.

There are money changers as you exit through the airport terminal doors to change a small amount to pay for a taxi, a driver or meal/drinks, then change money as you need to at an Authorised money changer close to your accommodation.

Keep passport, money, valuables inside your in room safe.

In Sanur forum members recommend you change your British pounds at e.g PT. Central Kuta inside Circle K mini mart near Hardy's on Jl Tamblingan.

At the northern end of Jl Tamblingan past Little Bird Warung, PT. Dirgahayu Valuta Prima (green on outside) www.balibestrate.com & BMC just around the bend (as Jl Tamblingan bends to the left at the top of the northern end)

Don't change at the dodgy brothers, a booth on it's own or stand/desk/table inside a shop selling e.g clothing etc, or paintings etc. or a money changer down a side lane.

Have you read the pinned post at the front of the forum? there is a description of the main dive areas of Bali. As per the excellent advice above, there is also Nusa Lembongan/Penida.

If you want 2 days diving, probably best to decide on area and overnight there. Amed or Tulamben would be my suggestions, as NL can have some nippy currents and might not suit your amateur.

Once you decide where, please come back and ask advice as how to get to the area, where to stay and who to dive with.

I'll be diving Tulamben for the next month+ and forum member notapigsty is currently en route and will be diving Amed. We both use the same driver group for our transfers.

Diving can be very reasonably priced, definitely not the cost you are referring to.
