You need to ask your own country what information they reveal to China, in case they get a request about criminal history of travelers. In your case, I doubt you are registered in international records that are accessible by China (e.g. Interpol).

So if you don't mention it on your application, and arrival card, I doubt if anyone will notice. However, many countries have agreements to supply this information in basic form, if asked for. Normally at a visa application they only ask this information based on the profile of the applicant. Some countries are more critical then others.

So you should check what criteria NZ uses to give this kind of information.
