Weather in Vanuatu, includes good links.

Like many posters here I find myself wondering about the current and prospective weather in Vanuatu.

I thought I might share some links I use for this.

The first shows current and tomorrow's weather plus the current time. www.worldtimeserver.com/weather_in_VU.aspx…

Second shows the 7 days forecast meteo.gov.vu/Forecasts/…Default.aspx

Third shows the weather systems satellite view, I really like this visual presentation of the weather systems effecting not only Vanuatu but from Australia, Noumea, (the little cigar shaped island just under the 20°S line), Vanuatu to the NE of that, and even Fiji to the E of Vanuatu. …wisc.edu/real-time/…gmsirnjava.html

I hope you find these useful and interesting,

Cheerz Wabster.

And looks like Vanuatu is in for some rain with the tropical disturbance in the Coral Sea, Mark.

I always use the Vanuatu Government Met site the link you posted above, much more informative than the Fiji Met :)

The tropical low can be clearly seen on the MTSAT site North West of New Caledonia.

Perhaps we may stay put here instead of our last minute trips to PV

Have a safe festive season and happy travels everyone

That's a great link LTB. Yeah I guess it is the season for tropical lows, and like us you'd be aware given the current La Niña event going on, that there are predicted to be greater than normal number of lows/cyclones this season.

I dunno about staying home though. The current weather here in Sydney is nothing like usual for December, it's cloudy raining and cool. At least in Vanuatu the rain would be warm :-)

It has been raining since Sunday night with a couple of sunny hours yesterday. We have light rain at the moment but it was pouring at 7am and we couldn't even see Erakor a few hundred metres away! fingers crossed it clears up soon, we had such a sunny hot week last week.

Its still nice and warm with not much breeze. Perfect weather for coffee at La Tentation and a good book!

Beautiful day in Brisbane today, sunny, hot and best of all no rain.

Crossing my fingers and toes that this continues. Perhaps a trip up north of the border Mark, away from the Sydney rain. Guess it must be your turn down there this year, we Qlder's have to share it around.

Hope you get some fine days P&L, La Tentation or the Anchor Inn are great places to relax and watch the rain over the harbour instead of over Erakor LOL.

Have a tusker for me P&L. We'll have a XXXX for Wabster :)

Mr P&L had the Tusker for you but I am not sure about the xxxx Wabs !

I will only drink beer if its the only cold fizzy thing available!

We had fine weather last week and the rain saves me watering the garden so I don't mind it really. It's clearing now.

People are still out on the catamarans from Le Lagon even in the rain...good

on 'em! The shops are very busy with Xmas specials too.

The Anchor Inn is my favourite place in the world to get "rained in" at!

Its mad here, I never ever thought I'd need to use the heater in December.

Sure LTB have a XXXX for me, there isn't any summer time drinking going on down here I can assure you.

As Annie says she has the heater on, we have blankets back on the bed, well cotton ones anyway, and trakkies (previously washed and packed away) unceremoniously dragged back out and put into use.

The drinks list is more cool weather, heavier beer, fortifieds and the odd red or 10. Usually by this time we are into our Mercury cider, light whites and the odd lager style beer.

Definately blaming La Niña.
