Has anyone found a direct flight Australia to Palau?

It seems that most trips from Aust to Palau have 2 or 3 stops, making the trip 24-30hrs. Has anyone found an alternative for a shorter trip?

The best route used to be Cairns to Guam then Guam to Palau.

There is normally quite a long stopover, about 10 hours, in Guam though each way. So yes, it takes quite a long time overall. Definitely worth it though.

Thanks for the feedback. I would love to go but with a stopover in Cairns and in Guam it just takes to much time away from our time in Palau when we can only take a couple of weeks holiday. I will have to wait until we get some direct flights from Aus :-( I will get there one day......

I just read an article posted a week ago in the Sydney Morning Herald that said this:

However a new A310 Airbus service, operated by Pacific Flier, has just opened the door to Australian tourists for the first time, with a direct flight from Brisbane cutting the trip down to a mere five and a half hours and costing $799 return. Kids can fly for $79 return during the airline's launch period.

Hi,

If I were you I would steer well clear of Pacific Flier if they ever start operating again.

I had tickets booked for travel last November and am still waiting on a refund.

Please see all the forum comments about this company before you give them any money!!!

Well, I travelled to Palau several times. From different origins.

The most regular conection with just one change is via Manila.

There are two or three flights a week from Manila to Palau and back.

By Continental Micronesia.

enjoy it

Seriously, SueT. Life is short. Don't keep waiting for your shorter flight because it might not come. Palau is WORTH the transfers and inconveniences. Go NOW before the waters become too warm and the fish swim north. As the saying goes, "Strike while the iron is hot." Or "the best day is when you think of it." (Japanese saying)

You won't regret it.
