Cruise on Carnival Spirit late Nov early Dec....

Just got a couple of questions if anyone can help.

We will be visiting Naumea, Lifou Isle, Mare and Isle of Pines.

There will be four traveling in our group 2 adults and 2 kids 3 & 5.

My question is it possible to organize tours without booking the cruise ones?

Has anyone done any of them were they ok/ good /bad?

What are the MUST SEE things for these stops?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Looking forward to your reponses

Have a look at the previously posted topics, lots of them deal with things to do on a cruise stop.

At Noumea, you can visit the Aquarium (amazing with kids) or Tjibaou Cultural Center or lazy on the south bays beaches (Anse Vata and Baie des Citrons) where you'll find plenty of restaurants and snacks. To move around, use public transportation or the Noumea Explorer. You can also try Mary D daytrip to Amedee Island or (cheaper option) take a taxi boat to Ducks Island (île aux Canards).

Lifou: here is a very recent topic: tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g317050-i13351-k51…

Isle of Pines: swim at the Natural Pool for an amazing snorkeling or enjoy a traditional outrigger trip at Oro Bay.

Mare: discover the "Trou d'eau" (waterhole) near Tadine, and the Warrior's Leap (Saut du guerrier) cliffs.

For Lifou and Maré, you can read the official website: http://www.iles-loyaute.com/en/

Most of cruise shore tours can be avoided, as most of them are available directly from the operator at the stop, at a much cheaper prices.
