Hi, what kind of power plug is used in HCMC? same type as the one int singapore? i.e. 3-pin? Thanks

I've seen the same type of plugs used in Singapore (and here in the UK) in a couple of hotels in Vietnam but they are very rare. The vast majority are 2 pin. And sometimes not very well designed in that sometimes the pins are very difficult to insert into the socket.

One thing not always taken into account when dealing with adapters is if an earth is required for the appliance in question (metal case etc). Reducing from 3 pins down to 2 pins means the appliance is unearthed, raising the risk of electric shock if it should develop a fault.
