Taxi transfers from airport to Bangkok

Hello, I am aware of the taxis that can be booked at Bangkok airport for a certain price. You then get in line at the taxi rank and hand the driver your voucher. My question is I'm arriving quite late in the evening does anyone know if it is still possible to purchase these taxi transfer vouchers.

Thanks

No need to prebook.

Not even sure that it is an option.

The taxi's will still be there waiting for you, regardless of what time you arrive.

That's great news, I'm flying in super late (11:15pm) on a Wednesday and planning on taxiing in to the city to my hotel. Haven't been to Thailand before so am still scouting the transport options!

Is there a chance the trip in to the city will meet less traffic at such a late time of night/early in the morning?

Thanks for the info :)

Last year we arrived in Bangkok at 1.30am, by the time we got thru immigration & waited around for our pre booked driver who by the way never turned up it was about 3am when we went & got one of the airport taxis. That time of the morning there was hardly any traffic, a lot of night work trucks about. CJ

Please read the Top Questions on the right about Airport Transfers. The taxi prices are not fixed but metered, and the paper you get is not a voucher, Its all explained in detail in the Top Questions.

At that hour, traffic will not be an issue. Tell the driver "No highway" and you will be driven on the road under the tollway. It's just as fast (maybe even faster because you don't have to stop for the tolls), and you save the 70 baht in tolls. Your cost including 50 baht surcharge will be less than 300 baht.

No problem finding a taxi 24 hours a day. But just in case you do not know you DO NOT prepay unless you want to spend more money! You do not hand any voucher to a taxi driver.

You tell the Public Taxi desk clerk where you are going and the clerk tells the driver in Thai where you want to go. You do pay for tolls during the ride if any and at the hotel pay the meter fare plus a 50 baht surcharge. The Public Taxi (meter taxi) desk clerk will give you a receipt that you keep. That receipt identifies the driver in case you have a problem. The fare you pay is for everyone in the taxi not per person.

When taking a taxi in Bangkok you pay in Thai baht not any foreign money. Have small bills and even coins to pay the driver. Fare starts at 35 baht - remember to check. From the airport the drivers know they are supposed to use the meter. In the city wave a moving taxi over and tell the driver to use the meter and if he agrees then get in. Check the meter anyway.

You can even take the Airport Rail Link to the Pratunam area if you want. That service stops running at midnight. If your hotel is in the Siam, Pratunam or Sukhumvit Road area a taxi from Ratchaprorop or Phaya Thai is not that expensive - using the meter of course!
