We are trying to decide between 2 hotels: Center Point Silom and Marriott Thonglor in Sukhumvit Soi 57 for our family vacation this July. We are interested in local street foods and night markets.

Which of these hotels would suit us better. Both are close to BTS so getting around won't be an issue but we want to stay close to the action where local street foods and massage parlors are accessible within walking distances, and a nice safe location to walk around in. Please provide us your feedback. Thanks in advance.

Both are safe locations however given your requirements, Center Point is a better location for local street foods and massage, it is also far more livelier comparing to Marriot's location which is more expaty and upmarket.

Stalls usually set up along Charoen Krung Road around Robinson Department Store around late afternoon, there are some food stalls around Saphan Taksin BTS station but not as many comparing to, say, Soi Convent (near Sala Daeng BTS) area. There are also decent and fairly priced massage places from opposite Robinson Department Store and Silom Road.

Being close to Saphan Taksin you can also take advantage of the Chao Phraya ferry at Sathorn pier, in my opinion is the best way to get to Grand Palace and Chinatown. You can also catch the free Asiatique boat from the same pier to get to the nightmarket.

Centre Point Silom- a great location for public transport and the area is quite lively and interesting.
