Best beaches in march

Hi,

we're heading to Thailand in March, and are so far planning on spending a few days in chiang mai and then heading south to explore the beaches. Which ones are the best at the end of march? we'd like to stay away from the big touristy ones (e.g. phuket) and most likely have 2 bases.

Many thanks for your help,

Louise

Thanks! Ko lanta looks like it'd suit us. Ko chang and ko kood look lovely but more complicated to get to!

Do you think it is possible to fly to krabi and do khao lak and ko lanta in the same trip? We'll have about 9/10 days.

Thanks

:-)

Perfectly possible to do those 3 in 9\10 days. Better to fly into Krabi have x days, ferry to and from Lanta after y days, transfer by road from ferry pier to Khao Lak, return to Phuket airport (just over an hour).

Koh Lanta and Khoa Lax is a very good choice IMO.

I'm sure you will want to visit Thailand again after you get a taste of it. Next time try Koh Chang and Koh Kood.

Koh Chang is a 40 min flight to Trat airport from Bangkok and then short trip by road and ferry.

We have never been to Thailand but would like to go in Feb. or Mar. 2015 for 3 or 4 weeks. Which month has better weather? We like to snorkel and want to avoid heavy tourist areas if possible. Where to go the first time? Beginning stages of planning.

Thanks
