National parks in Thailand?

Hi guys. Myself and my gf would like to visit one of Thailands National Parks in August for a day tour. We will be In Bangkok before heading to Chiang Mai for a few days! After that we head for Samui so ideally iam interested in places that are near Bangkok / Chiang Mai.

Our aim is to see lots of wildlife and to ultimately have an experience/adventure we will always remember!

Also interested in recommended Tour guides :)

Thanks in advance

There are a number of national parks near Chiang Mai, but they are about mountains, forests, rivers etc, not wildlife. You will find quite a few daytrip options to Doi Inthanon NP sold by tour desks in CM.

Kui Buri National Park? It's south of Bangkok. Are you trip plans set in stone ie Chang Mai to Samui? If not you could take the long way down from Bangkok to Samui by bus or train and stop at Kui Buri. There are elephants and it's a lovely part of the world.

No wildlife in the National Parks around Chiang Mai unless your lucky enough to spot something. It is all but gone, eaten long ago. As mentioned it is all about the views, which I must say can be spectacular.

National parks are not the Serengeti plain or zoos.it is also jungle, so you aren't going to be bombard with spectacular vistas packed with animals. If you are interested in ecology and conservation however they are an extremely rich experience.

THAILAND has a huge area dedicated to National parks with very little finding.

You can camp (in season) in most parks and they usually have accommodation outside. You can arrange guided trips there or on Google.

The.most visited national park near Bangkok is Khao Yai...this also has the most tours etc.

There are dozens of national parks around Chiang Mai...here is a list of some....

To get a better idea of what is available either go to the Thai National Park web site or..https://www.thainationalparks.com.

A rather facetious comment....there are a lot of pressures on conservation in Thailand and to suggest that the animals have all been eaten is grossly misleading.

To suggest there is nothing there is quite incorrect..... THAILAND is one of the world's diversity hotspots ... it's just that nature doesn't concern itself with becoming tourist attraction.

Yes, it is under threat, yes, it is mismanaged but it has one of the greatest diversified of wildlife on the planet.
