We are staying near San Ignacio and also in Placencia. Any opinions which Cave Tubing Trip is the best ? I think ATM may not work for us due to tight spaces so what the next best “cool experience”

I know nothing compares to ATM but it’s hard to tell what the difference is between the Cave tubing trips !

Anything else to absolutely not miss ? We are going on November !

Cave tubing at St Herman's cave is mostly floating down a lazy flowing water inside a cave .

At No och Chen is a walk about 35 minutes to the entrance cave then floating down river inside cave for about 30 minutes and about another 15 minutes on the open river.

Actun Tunichil Muknal is a about 45 minutes walking to the main entrance, crossing water ,and then you swim about 20ft into the cave seeing old Mayan ceramic artifacts and calcified human remains. It is a must if you have good endurance ,flexibility and can tolerate cave environment.

Hope you are all ready and looking forward to your cave tubing tour. very good cave tubing tours take about 3 hrs including the 30 minute hike to the starting point, leaving the river to explore a small cave within the cave system, and also, explore around a very interesting rock shelter (if you are not claustrophobic and if your time allows it and time to enjoy everything at your own pace - no floating down in a hurry.

I like Maya Guide Adventures and they charge $50US/$100BZ. In San Ignacio, Xunantunich is a must. Also, go to Burns Avenue as it is closed to traffic and nice place to walk and eat all the delicious food of the area.

On your way to Placencia, you could stop at the Jaguar Reserve and go float the river. It's all wide spaces, out in the open, and the water is refreshing not freezing. It costs only a few dollars and you purchase your tickets at the Maya Village Center gift shop. Che'ill chocolate is located there as well and you can make your own chocolate bar.

In Placencia, you can catch a boat to Monkey River if you like a boat ride and want to see some Howler monkeys. Although they are usually at Xunantunich. I like Bunches of Fun banana tour if you like agricultural tourism.
