Hiking in Angels Camp / Murphys area?

Will be in Murphy's for the concert at Ironstone.

Would like to do some easy to moderate day hikes as part of our trip.

Any suggestions? Guessing rattlers could be an issue in August

plus the heat.

You could drive up to Calaveras Big Trees State Park and hike into the South Grove for pristine giant sequoias.

Or you could cool off in the river by hiking down to the Natural Bridge:

Calaveras Big Trees also has some swimming holes in the Stanislaus River.

Thanks. I just checked the Park's site.

The South Grove area hikes looks interesting. A nice workout with very nice scenery.

South Grove, Arnold Rim Trail or Natural Bridges ... although hiking out of Natural Bridges last August just about killed me (all uphill, heat, no breeze) so go early, it's well worth it!!
