Yes it's true ~ My super-sleuth endeavors have indeed uncovered a 5***** GEM that stole my heart ❤️

But as difficult as it is to navigate through the TA Forum & find Angels Camp ~ I think you're quite safe from the masses.

The REAL danger is that I may round up all my rowdy friends &

Hire a Greyhound, buy tickets to an Ironstone Concert, County Fair & Frog Jumpin Jubilee, Copperopolis Wine Festival /

Take up all the seats in Angel Creek Cafe, Crusco's, Camps, Copper Grille, Mi Pueblo, Talulah's, Murphys Pourhouse, V Bistro, Murphys Hotel Restaurant, Willow Hotel Steakhouse, National Hotel Restaurant, Jamestown Hotel Restaurant, Diamondback Grill, Coloma Club Cafe /

Tour the Tuolumne City Museum, Veterans Military Museum, Angels Camp Museum, Calaveras County Museum, Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park /

Visit the fallen Pioneer Cabin Tree in Calaveras Big Trees, pan for Gold, tour the Caverns, Parks, & Vineyards, hit the Stevenot & Lavendar Ridge, play Saddle Creek & Greenhorn Creek, shoot the Rapids, ski Bear Valley, contribute to the prosperity of the Black Oak Casino /

Nightcaps @ the Old Corner Saloon, Gold Rush Saloon, Lucky Penny Pub, Rawhide Saloon /

Sleep 😴 in the Murphys Historic Hotel, Cooper House B&B, Jamestown Hotel, The Willow, 1859 National Hotel, Gunn House, Coloma Hotel /

So I reckon we won't be disturbin the peace round there for more than a couple weeks . . . 😝

Preciate it if you would kindly let me know when the Sheriff takes his 2-week vacation . . .

Murphys Stockton & Lodi

Headed for the Lighthouse Point Arena Resort, I drove Hwy. 4 for 1 1/2 hours to Stockton ~ then 20 minutes N on Hwy. 99 to Lodi.

Lodi grows the largest # of grapes 🍇 in California.

Robert Mondavi grew up in Lodi & was President of his class. He believed that the area had the perfect Mediterranean climate for growing grapes.

Two rivers brought soils rich in minerals that lend complex flavors to the wines of Lodi.

During the last half of the 20th century, Mondavi made investments to enhance grape production in this region, which today boasts over 190,000 acres of premium grapes.

Many of Lodi's family-owned wineries are run by 4th & 5th generation vintners.

36 of the 85+ wineries have tasting rooms.

Again last week Lodi swept the top awards (245 total) in the San Francisco Chronicle's Annual Wine Competition.

Just about a year ago
~ I set out on the road

Seekin' my fame and fortune
~ Lookin' for a pot of gold

Things got bad and things got worse ~
I guess you know the tune

Oh Lord, stuck in Lodi again

Rode in on the Greyhound ~
I'll be walkin' out if I go

I was just passin' through
~ Must be seven months or more

Ran out of time and money
~ Looks like they took my friends

Oh Lord, I'm stuck in Lodi again

A man from the magazine ~
Said I was on my way

Somewhere I lost connections
~ Ran out of songs to play

I came into town, a one-night stand ~ Looks like my plans fell through

Oh Lord, stuck in Lodi again

If I only had a dollar
~ For every song I've sung

Every time I had to play
~ While people sat there drunk

You know, I'd catch the next train
~ Back to where I live

Oh Lord, stuck in Lodi again

Oh Lord, I'm stuck in Lodi again

I visited the Berghold Vineyards & Winery ~ a place that must be seen to be believed.

Victorian Antique Collectors Joe & Kay Berghold's goal was to build an architecturally unique winery & tasting room.

It was a truly breathtaking scene, still decorated for Christmas.

Next to the elegant Tasting Room is an enormous Meeting / Event space lavishly furnished with the collection of Victorian Antiques, & decorated to perfection.

Mr. Berghold, along with 3 Sommeliers, was pouring & entertained us with stories about wine / art / antiques /

The wines we tasted were priced around $23 & were all outstanding ~ & as I prefer Reds, they had a remarkable flavor & a rich velvety texture. Most of the locals bought 1 or 2 cases.

Several interesting articles on the web tell fascinating stories about the Bergholds.
