OK....we need more information.

- What kind of budget are you dealing with for the trip?

- What would you like to see in those 10 days visiting those three Western U.S cities?

- How many days do you plan to devote to each of the three cities?

- And ...will you have a vehicle when you visit here?

Please supply us with some of these answers and we can give you better suggestions

First question, you posted in the Anaheim forum but you say you are going to LA, LV, SF. Are you visiting Anaheim?

Yes, please supply more information - do you want to drive between these places, or are you looking to maximize your time in each, in which case you should fly between them (you can fly between any two of these cities in, at most, a little over an hour of flying time). The drive between LA and SF along the coastal route, for instance, is one of the most scenic drives in the world, but it really needs a one night stop-over along the way, and two or three nights is a lot better - but that would take away from your time in the three cities. I think 3 nights in each of the cities is about right, so it depends what your priorities might be.

Most would suggest 3-4 days in Los Angeles, San Francisco and if you want to do Disneyland 2-3 days for Disneyland. I think you are planning Vegas as well. It is not in CA but in any case it is up to you to decide what you want to do in each city and for how long and then plan your trip. 9 days (forget the nights) and 4 cities is too much imho unless you are just rushing through it. can it be done sure if that is how you like to see the US. Should it be done. I don't think so. Perhaps you can just skip SF this time and do LA, Anaheim and LV or Skip vegas and do LA, Anaheim and SF. Time to do some reading and planning

These places you want to visit are also quite far apart. You can visit them all pretty much in 10 days if you wanted to, but you would not be able to stay long in any destination, and, it would require you to fly to each Destination in order to be able to do that in the time allowed.

Southwest Airlines ( you can really only book on thier website Southwest.com) or Jet Blue Airlines offer inexpensive flight between all of the places you want to visit, some for as little as $60 one way.

I would also suggest though that you leave out one destination as really 2 days of your visit will be taken up by traveling to and from and checking into Hotels ect.

Keep in mind, A few days at is usually suggested for all of the places you may want to visit, as there is plenty of things to do in each of places you want to visit. So you will have to decide how many days you want to spend in each place, as well as if you want to fly to each desination or leave out some destinations and drive. The drive up or down the Coast from LA to San Francisco is said to be very beautiful and can easily take you a few days to stop along the way.

Once you have a firm itinerary, we can help you with where to stay ect. And you can post in each of the City Forums you are thinking of visiting for more help in those areas.

Even if you flew from LA (or Orange County to Las Vegas) and then flew from Las Vegas to San Francisco, you don't really have enough time to do four cities (Los Angeles, Anaheim, Las Vegas, San Francisco). Three nights in LA, OC & SF barely scratch the surface and if you AREN'T flying, but trying to drive that sucks up another night or two and large parts of three days (5 hours LA to LV, LV to SF 9 hours).

Flying to San Francisco (no car needed in SF), then drive to LA and drive to Las Vegas and fly from there to NY will save you time and if you rent the car from Australia no drop off charges between Ca and Nv either.
