Places similar to a Miami Beach experience

What areas in Florida are similar to a Miami Beach experience.

Basically where there is a type of strip like Ocean Drive and a long coastal beach area with nice hotels?

Is FT Lauderdale similar ?

Daytona Beach ?

how bout on other side near St Petersburg Florida?

What can you all suggest?

I don't think there is anyplace else in Florida exactly like Miami Beach. It depends on if you want the clubs and nite life too or just the beach and some restaurants and shopping. FLL will be the closest in being similar. Daytona has lots of hotels on the beach but is a much much smaller town. Plus to Daytona for some is that you can drive on the beach.

St. Pete, same as Daytona, lots of hotels, some bars, shops etc but much smaller than Miami Beach. Panama City / Pensacola will be the next similar in having the hotels, party spots, younger people, etc. Most of the rest of Florida has lots of great beaches but most are smaller towns, very laid back, not party central. Daytona & Cocoa Beach have less wider beaches, more surf. Gulf coast and panhandle have white soft sugar sand beaches that are very wide.

Ft Lauderdale will be closest to the same, and Clearwater. St Pete, and Ft Myers beach will be close-ish (but more casual) and less exotic- but in MHO have a better beach.

I don't think Daytona equates at all.
