Drives in the area

Hi all

I have three days left over on our itnierary

Launceston area 2 nights on the Tamar River...explore

Coles Bay 1 night (air flight around the Freycinet)

Port Arthur 1 night (perhaps a boat tour to Tasman Is)

Hobart 2 nights Salamanca markets, harbour area, casino

Strahan 2 nights and Gordon River Cruise

Stanley 2 nights explore the area

I am hoping to get down to Cradle Mt via Mt Roland area ( beautiful) as long as it is not full on rain then. Perhaps a night around this area

What about going down the A5 to Miena from Deloraine and return up thru Cressy, skirting the Great Lake, Is the A5 part gravel and is the drive worth it?

I have already tackled the gravel road across from Tunbridge thru Interlakin to the Steppes on the A5...that was an experience in itself, running out of gravel after 30 odd km and going up a narrow gravel road onto a mountain the height I had never been before and then through a dead quiet timber felling area on top...a bit un nerving to say the least...but part of my Tassie poem!

I read there is a nice drive from Deloraine out to the Great Western Tiers so would that be a return back thru Miena on the Great Lake and then up thru Cressy. Are these roads very winding and take much longer and is there much to see? Any thoughts, would be appreciated

Niec
