Where to stay for family in Trinity Beach

Hi every one

Well we think we have decided to stay in Trinity Beach when we come to Cairns (unless someone persuades us otherwise!) We are a family of four, 2 adults, girl aged 13yrs, boy aged 11yrs and we are from Chch New Zealand and coming to Cairns on about 26th September will be there for about 3-4 days hopefully. Wondered if you know of a good resort/apartment/ or other accommodation for us? We are on a bit of a budget, would love to pay less than $150 per night but may be dreaming??? Can anyone suggest somewhere please? Pool important, but we don't need luxury, just a kitchen with fridge and cooking facilities and clean etc. Could possibly have 2 extra adults join us for some of the time. Thank you.

We are a famlly of four (2 boys aged 10 & 12) and stayed at the Marlin Cove Resort in Trinity Beach in July 2017. Perfect! It is only a 5 minute walk down to the beach. The apartments (two bedroom, great kitchen, balcony, 2 bathroom) are set in a gorgeous lush tropical garden setting and there are tame (ish) wallabies leaping about just hanging out for a banana skin or carrot to munch on. The pools are both fabulous - one lagoon style, one warmer lap pool. Good information is available at reception if you want to book tours anywhere. Good coffee at local cafes for the adults and lots of beach activities on offer for all.

We just got back from a trip where we spent 4 days in TB and 4 days in PD. We MUCH preferred Trinity Beach over PD. My kids LOVED the inflatable water playground at TB and I loved the laid back vibe. There were WAY too many people at Four Mile in PD to feel relaxing. Downsides to TB is that you do have to drive to PD for the reef trip, but it's a beautiful drive and not a big deal. There aren't a ton of restaurants in TB, but enough for an occasional night out. Lots of families.

We stayed in Beachfront Apartments at Trinity Beach, which we loved. It's a little more than you are aiming for, but all the units have a direct beachfront view. LOVED these apartments.

Be sure to get groceries at the Woolworths in Cairnes before getting to TB, cheapest groceries we found.
