Is a car necessary if staying at Trinity Beach

We will be staying for 6 nights at Trinity Beach but plan to relax at least for half that time and go to the reef for a day. We were thinking a car only to travel to Kuranda, Port Douglas and dinner at Palm Cove a couple of times.

Is there transport from the airport to Trinity Beach? Also is there car rental places at Trinity?

Any information will be helpful.

Thanks.

There are airport shuttle services you can book, or a taxi, but if more than two of you, hiring a small car at the airport is going to cost about the same as a days car hire.....and then you have to get back to the airport too.

That and mucking around with check in, check out of car hire on several different occasions would be annoying to me.

I would just hire it for the whole time and be done with it.

Cheers.

For the hassle and cost of shuttles and Uber or taxis plus you want to rent a car anyway, just pre-book a car from the airport for the 6 days and return it when you leave. The convenience of the car will outweigh any perceived cost.

I also agree to have a car would be ideal to travel to and fro from Trinity Beach to Palm Cove, Port Douglas & Kuranda.

Gah, just re-read my early morning post. I meant that one days car hire will account for the shuttle cost, and same with the last day.....so, do the maths, but I would always pay a bit more for convenience of having a car to hand at all times. As Deborah says, grocery shopping is easy if you have a car.

Cheers.
