We are due to road trip to central/west NSW including Dubbo and Mudgee in Mid June.
Has anyone been recently or live there, and can comment on the mouse plague? Keen to know whether it affects venues and hotel rooms and cars.

Hi Brisbane15
We have just returned from a 2 week road trip up the coast from Sydney & then inland where we stayed at Gunnedah, Dubbo (at an Airbnb 15 mins out of town by the river) & West Wyalong. We did not see a single mouse anywhere or evidence of their presence (I grew up on a farm & have a strong sense of the smell of mouse having survived several plagues!)
My country cousins assure me there are plenty out on the farms anywhere there is grain around or recently planted crops.
Hi all - just an update - travelled through Dubbo and western NSW and did not see a single mouse (during the day). Thanks everyone for their advice and insights.
Great news. Thanks for getting back to us. I've just driven 1500k through western NSW and Qld - yet to see one in any tourist accomodation or at any tourist attractions.
Our cat seems to have stopped catching them too. Either he’s finally got through them all or the cold snap helped us out.
I’d love to read some trip reports! 😉
At least the Mouse plague will still clear of Sydney now they are in Lockdown 😊😊
That’s interesting Abdullah but not travel related and definitely nothing to do with a mouse plague in Dubbo that is hopefully over now.
we need a Koala plauge, that will bring the tourists, they are so cute.
