Advice on best BB's , Lodges , Farm stays

Hello there , would love to get recommendations on some lovely Lodges , boutique hotels, BB's during our 10 days trip to SI to experience Kiwi hospitality , friendly nature and not forgetting the yummy home cooked meals etc

Our Itinerary looks like this .we fly into CHC . Hope its doable . ( Feel free to suggest any changes )

1) 3 nights in Franz Joseph / Fox Glacier ( Which is best for views etc ) or shall we stay 1 night in Hokitika and then 2 in FJ/ FG

2)1 night in Wanaka ( Deep Canyon / Lord of the Rings set )

3) 1 night in Te Anau to do Milford sound

4) 2 nights in QTown

Many thanks in advance , also are Apex rentals good company .

5) 2 nights in Mnt Cook / LTekapo

Hello Kiry :)

You might need two nights at the glaciers and two nights at Wanaka. It will take 4 hours non-stop driving to get from Franz to Wanaka and many take 6 or so hours if stopping to enjoy one or two of the great short walks at Haast Pass and a quick lunch at Haast or Makarora. You will need a full day for Deep Canyon and at least half a day for a LOTR tour.

You would also ideally want two nights in Te Anau for Milford. It can be a long and tiring drive from Milford all the way to Queenstown.

For accommodation, take a look at the Qualmark rated properties www.newzealand.com/int/#/plan/accommodation/

sadly newzealand.com has changed its website which is now less user-friendly. However the categories are listed together which will help in your search.

happy planning :)

All properties listed on www.bnb.co.nz have received some sort of inspection but your best guarantee for quality is to look for the Qualmark grading.

In some areas of New Zealand the I Site has listings and has inspected the properties so just ask.
