Be very careful when choosing your parking company. Stay with the established and highly service oriented players like Andrews, Busy Beaver etc. Truly professional and price competitive. Importantly, their waiting time is an industry benchmark. One should never have to wait more than a maximum 10 mins for a shuttle to pick you up to and fro the airport . I am a regular long term parking customer and used the major companies to 100% satisfaction.

But I succumbed to temptation and used the much cheaper advertised " Commercial Drive" airport parking company recently. Received a hot iron brandishing of a lesson I will never forget. Company advertises " No Waiting" but we waited 45 mins despite several calls to them by me and others waiting at the airport. Calls get diverted to voice mail and you are asked to leave a message but you can't because voice mail box is full. Their office is a small porta container in a loosely enclosed dirt parking lot. On the night they finally picked us up 45 mins late we arrived to a parking lot that was in total darkness because their portable generator was not working. That's right..they do not have connected electricity to their parking lot. Their employee had to find passenger's car keys in their small unlit garden shed office with the help of passenger's mobile phone torches. They could not locate keys easily and this was not because of the poor lighting. They had to go thru key hooks one by one to search for some passenger's car keys. To cream it all the manager was very rude. Many were so angry with the shocking service and treatment given.

Sorry to hear your experience. Try jetport next time. I use them regularly and don't have any hassles.

We used Commercial Drive airport parking for 6 days in April and never again, we got back to the car that was parked in a 'Secure Parking' area to find that our Sat Nav had been stolen, despite being put away in a enclosed storage compartment in the car and out of sight. Considering that the only people that had the keys were the staff at the airport parking complex and there was no damage to the vehicle upon return and it was locked up, it doesnt take much working out as to who took the sat nav from the car. My partner spoke to the manager and he was very rude and basically said it was our own fault for leaving it in the car as he has a sign up in the office to advise customers to remove all valuables from the vehicles, which legally means nothing, maybe he knows one of his staff is a thief. Very disappointed at the attitude of this company, so I have now reported the incident to the police and hopefully something will be done about it. Stay away from this company, deals that seem too good to be true, usually are !!!

We recently had a very bad experience with Budget Airport parking in Melbourne (located at 1 Prima Ct, Tullamarine).

We had called them couple of times while waiting in the pickup area for 45-50 mins.

When the person finally arrived to pick us up, he got down from the vehicle and started yelling and shouting at us - who called me? why do you call so many times? don't you have any patience ? etc etc...

He then literally threw our baggage inside the vehicle, and then drove us to the parking.

We were so shocked by his rude behaviour that we decided it would be best not to argue with him and just take the keys.

Just posting this incident so that people planning to use this parking service will be aware that such things occur.

Used to be loyal to Andrews but last time their driver, in some bad mood with staff there, just threw our bags around and damaged our new one so bad it can't be used again. Of course they denied it...and this wasn't the first issue we experienced, so we are trying United next....hope they become our next favourite.

We used Jetaway Airport Parking for a 7 day stay back in October and recommend them. They're a new off-site parking company that seems to have gotten customer service right. Jetaway is Owner operated and staff were friendly and the driver on time. The owner claims to have founded Jetport Parking back in the day.

I use mostly Melrose Airport Parking which have always provided me excellent service. Just to be different I sometimes try Andrew's or Jetport, etc, and they are fine too.

Melrose is competitive and very close to the airport. You pull up into their yard, drop keys, get into the waiting van (they have several so we have always had one there when we've pulled up) and a couple of minutes later you are at the airport.

On return you ring them and they come straight to pick you up. Longest we have every waited was about 10 minutes and they were apologetic (which they didn't need to be as that is not long anyway).

You can book via internet or on the phone. Pay when you get back and get your keys.

For the very few dollars you might save, we've found that in the end the Airport Long Term Car Park is the best and most reliable. The buses come by every few minutes and it never takes more than 10 or 15 minutes from getting off the pane to driving out of the car park. At most, it's less than $20 difference between their prices and those of the supposedly cheaper 'off site' companies. For the number of times I've been on the bus heading to the car park and watched people at the terminal on their phones trying to arrange a pick up - and, yes, sometimes that was me, it's worth paying the extra.

I agree with evamelb. It's very convenient and easy to use the airport's long term carpark. You can pre-pay online and get a discount.
